In an official ceremony, the Fujian Public Security Bureau (PSB) Foreign NGO Management Office issued a registration certificate to the Taiwan-China Strait Two Shores One Family Exchange Promotion Association. The head of the Fujian PSB Foreign NGO Management Office commended the association for their constructive efforts in promoting cross-strait economic and cultural collaborations and expressed hope that all future activities would be carried out in accordance to the law. The chief representative of the association’s Xiamen office reaffirmed the association’s commitment to carrying out law-abiding activities under the guidance of their Professional Supervisory Unit, the Fujian Department of Culture, and the Fujian PSB Office.
The Gansu PSB Foreign NGO Management Office also issued a registration certificate to Sunnyyoung Caring Association. The head of the Gansu PSB Foreign NGO Management Office thanked the association for its exemplary contributions to the community and hoped it would continue to adhere to the law. At the same time, he said that the PSB office would ensure that the legal rights and interests of the association are met. The chief representative of the Association’s Lanzhou office and the secretary general of the Association stated that they were honored to be the first Taiwanese NGO registered in Gansu and expressed gratitude to the PSB office for their support.
Recently, the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai, Shanghai Public Security PSB Foreign NGO Management Office, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and Shanghai Municipal Agricultural Commission jointly held a dialogue on Chongming Island, Shanghai for business and commerce-related NGOs. In attendance were NGOs from Japan, South Korea, Spain, and Canada.
The focus of the dialogue was Chongming’s status as an “ecological island” that focuses on green economic development. During the dialogue, the Shanghai PSB Foreign NGO Management Office introduced the Foreign NGO Law and the related services it provides, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai introduced the China International Import Expo and the status of the service platform of Shanghai’s “going out” strategy, and the Shanghai Municipal Agricultural Commission introduced the “welcoming in and going out” service concept of Shanghai’s green agriculture industry.
Participating NGOs expressed that that the dialogue successfully augmented their knowledge of Chongming’s status as an ecological island and Shanghai’s investment climate and that they hope to further promote economic and trade exchange in China under the guidance of the Shanghai PSB Foreign NGO Management Office and their respective Professional Supervisory Units.
Recently, the Tianjin PSB Foreign NGO Management Office visited the Tianjin Foreign Studies University for research and dialogue. The Tianjin PSB Foreign NGO Management Office introduced the Foreign NGO Law and other regulations relevant to foreign NGO activities in universities; it also emphasized the legal issues that universities should pay heed to when working with foreign NGOs. At the end of the discussion, the university departments in attendance conveyed their gratitude to the PSB office for answering their questions and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to improving their management of foreign NGO activities through increased communication with the relevant authorities.
Recently, the Jiangxi PSB Foreign NGO Management Office visited the provincial Jiangxi Province Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese for a discussion about their work with foreign NGOs. A representative from the Jiangxi PSB Foreign NGO Management Office introduced the Foreign NGO Law to the staff of the Federation, distributed relevant information brochures, inquired about their collaborations with foreign NGOs, and noted that the PSB office would facilitate such collaborations in accordance to the law. The Federation thanked the Jiangxi PSB Office for their visit and said that they looked forward to strengthening working relations with them.
