The Fujian and Sichuan Public Security Bureau (PSB) Foreign NGO Management Offices granted registration certificates to foreign NGOs in their respective jurisdictions. Fujian gave certificates to The Chinese Art of Tea Craft Union, the Chinese Youth Volunteer Exchange Association, and the China-Taiwan Business and Trade Exchange Association. Sichuan gave a certificate to The Salvation Army.
The Gansu PSB Foreign NGO Management Office has been using many methods to publicize the law. This includes publishing related items in official media; “self-service” information displays at NGO management office windows; WeChat postings; and meetings with Professional Supervisory Units, Chinese Partner Units, colleges, and foreign NGOs. Thus far, the Gansu office has answered 349 phone class, had 54 in-person consultations, answered 272 questions, registered four foreign NGOs, handled nine temporary activity filings, and has 1,597 WeChat followers.
Today, the Shanghai PSB Foreign NGO Management Office held a training session on the Foreign NGO law for more than 40 domestic social organizations registered in the Pudong New District. The meeting covered the legislative background of the law; the registration, filing, and reporting processes; and related PSB services.
Today, the Jiangsu and Nanjing PSB Foreign NGO Management Offices held a meeting at Southeast University to discuss the Foreign NGO Law. Meanwhile, the Hubei and Wuhan PSB Foreign NGO Management Offices went to Huazhong University of Science and Technology to hold their own discussion of the Law.
